Alleged Intel ARC Alchemist Desktop GPUs Images Leak

Prominent YouTuber and leakster, Moore’s Law Is Dead (MLID) recently posted a new video, speaking about Intel’s upcoming ARC Alchemist GPUs. Interestingly enough, his latest dissertation included images that allegedly show the desktop GPU variants.

According to MLID, the desktop GPUs in the images are supposedly that of the SOC1 which is the unit that houses up to 512 Execution Units (EU) and the SOC2 that has 128EU. With regards to their performance, the DG2-512EU could have up to 16GB GDDR6 memory and could bump heads with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti on the desktop, or AMD’s Radeon RX 6700XT.

Meanwhile, the DG2-128EU would have up to 6GB GDDR6 graphics memory, which would make a possible entry-level contender, going up against the RTX 3050 series.

Beyond that, MLID’s video doesn’t include any performance metrics, for the simple fact that Intel itself hasn’t actually provided such details, to date. In fact, the chipmaker only recently decided to announce the ARC series during this year’s Game Awards 2021, but beyond the typical performance showcase, the teaser also shows off features that Intel already said would be present with their product, including ray-tracing and its XeSS upscaling technology.

In any case, take this news with the grain of salt, at least until the second half of 2022, which is when Intel is expected to launch the GPU lineup.
