Dead Space Remake Devs Confirm Early 2023 Release

Dead Space remake trailer

Just a couple of days ago, GamesBeat reports that EA and Motive Studios have internally delayed the release of the Dead Space remake to early next year. It looks like the devs at Motive have confirmed this, at the end of the game’s audio developer livestream.

As the name of the stream suggests, it’s slightly under 50 minutes of talking about sound design. Which is naturally an important factor in a horror game, as well as in Dead Space specifically. And it’s not just the sound effects and BGM of the game either, as the devs also discuss weapon sound effects as well as the ALIVE System, “which controls Isaac’s heart rate, breathing and dialogue delivery”.

The ALIVE System is pretty impressive, as it improves the realism of Isaac’s voice. You can hear smoother transitions in the change of his breathing patterns, as well as different lines being delivered differently depending on his heart rate.

You can check out the rest of the stream for all the nitty gritty details. But the bit of info you’re looking for comes at the very end of the stream. Dead Space community council member Jack Pattillo asks when the game will be released. Answering the question is senior producer Philippe Ducharme, who says that while the devs have an exact date in mind, they can only share the early next year window.
