Instagram Reportedly Revamping User Profiles To Include Grid Customisation

Instagram

Instagram may be working on a revamp to its user profiles, reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi reports. This update will include a new “Edit Grid” feature, which would allow users to pick and arrange their best shots and videos in their profile pages in order to promote their work.

As with most of his findings, Paluzzi had discovered the feature hidden in the Instagram app’s codes and later reversed engineered to preview its functions. He noted that the Edit Grid option will be added to the Profile Information page, and accessing it will enable users to drag and drop all of their uploaded content for profile customisation.

The new addition is highly beneficial to Instagram users, especially content creators, thus allowing them to showcase their best work to visitors. Furthermore, this would also free profile pages from displaying content in sequential order, which arranges them from the most recent uploads to the oldest. Paluzzi did not say whether the revamp would fully replace Instagram’s traditional user profiles, or would allow users to switch between them.

Instagram has not confirmed that it is planning to introduce such a feature at this time, let alone announce its development. Therefore, do keep in mind that discoveries such as these may not see an implementation in the public version of the app in the end.
