INTI releases parody video dedicated to Malaysian students returning to school

There’s nothing like a little bit of comic relief during tough times and that’s exactly the approach INTI University took in a video dedicated to Malaysian students who are returning to school this week.

In collaboration with Taneshh Productions, INTI International University & Colleges released a skit portraying a family watching Malaysia’s Education Minister, Dr. Mohd Radzi Md Jidin’s announcement on the reopening of schools for Form Five, Form Six, Vocational and Malaysian Higher Islamic Religious Certificate (STAM) students.

The video incorporates several relatable elements for Malaysian students who spent the last three months at home, unable to physically attend school due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The skit which is also a parody of a well known Tamil film, Chandramukhi starring Super Star Rajinikanth, has garnered more than 18,000 views on Youtube, and 75,000 views and 1,100 shares on Facebook ever since its release on 23 June 2020.

Senior Vice President, Marketing, Products & Partnerships at INTI, Timothy Johnson said it is important to motivate students to return to school and remind  them of the significance of education, especially during these challenging times.

“Most students have taken this opportunity to learn news skills or even build on projects which they are passionate about, like Saras,” Timothy said. “As parents and educators, it is important to share those dreams and support them, while still encouraging children to complete their education and excel in this important phase of their lives.”

Timothy also added that the release of the parody video would not have been possible without the works of Taneshh Productions –  a local production house that specialises in social media content, as well as the talents of  Tanesh, and Kaameshaa Ravindran from Oh My English! He expressed his gratitude for the team that came together quickly once restrictions were lifted to produce the video.
