Chan May Ling has been appointed as the new CMO for KFC Malaysia, replacing Angelina Villanueva who accepted a regional position at the company last week. May Ling comes from Digi and the company’s largest stakeholder, Telenor where she held several positions since 2007.
She will be reporting to KFC Malaysia’s brand head, Chandrasagran Munusamy.
According to her LinkedIn, May Ling first joined Digi as senior in the Marketing & Communications (Marcomm) department in 2007 before she rose up the ranks and was appointed Head of Marketing Services 2012.
Following that, May Ling moved to Telenor as the Head of Brand Strategy & Online Marketing and then Head of Digital Services. In July last year, she returned to Digi as the Digital Customer Experience Transformation Lead.
With almost 21 years of, May Ling has led cross functional teams to build award winning brand & marcomm campaigns, #1 digital product and first digital telco payment whilst piloting new digital innovation in the Myanmar market, according to her LinkedIn.
May Ling was also elected Vice President of the Malaysian Advertisers Association for 2 terms from 2014 to 2017 and was the organizing chairman for the 2015 Malaysian EFFIE awards.
