Motorola Razr 2022 Makes An Appearance On Weibo

Motorola Razr Lenovo Mobile China Chen Jin folded

The Motorola Razr of 2022 has seen a couple of leaks, including one that said that it would lack the chin that made the name so iconic. Recently, there seems to have been confirmation to that effect, as the phone has been seen in the hands of Chen Jin, the GM of Lenovo Mobile China.

As GSMArena reports, a number of images on Chinese social media Weibo depicts the executive holding this year’s Motorola Razr, codenamed Maven, in his hands. And indeed, they show the phone without the iconic chin of the series, but as a result the phone does have a slightly larger screen. When folded, you can see the dual camera setup, though not as clearly as the previous leak.

In another post on Weibo in what looks like an official product teaser featuring the Motorola Razr, It shows the silhouette of the device at least, with the larger secondary screen and the dual camera setup. There’s also a slight showcase of the hinge, or rather, the phone in a half-folded state.

Beyond that though, there’s nothing really new about the Motorola Razr that has been revealed this time. Previously, serial leakster Evan Blass has claimed that the device will see a launch in China in either late July or early August, with a global rollout coming later. This event which reveals the device does not seem to be the launch in question, at least based on the Weibo posts.

Based on previous leaks, the Motorola Razr of 2022 is expected to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset, a Full HD+ primary display, either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, as well as 256GB or 512GB of storage space. On cameras, the phone is also expected to have a 50MP primary shooter with a 13MP wide angle and macro sensor, as well as a 32MP punch hole secondary camera.
