During OPPO’s Inno Day 2022 event, the company presented a demo of their new augmented reality glasses, the OPPO Air Glass 2. A follow-up to the original Air Glass, the brand refers to this device as “assisted reality” rather than “augmented reality.”

This time, OPPO chose a more similar design to typical glasses. The first-gen wearables, however, more closely resembled a bulky updated version of the Google Glass while the new model looks sleeker, though it still weighs more than the original at 38g.

It claims to use the world’s first resin SRG-diffractive waveguide lens, which the firm developed itself. Furthermore, the frames will also be further customizable while the lenses will offer vision correction.

According to the company, its new AR glasses will give users access to real-time translation, location-based navigation, call-making, speech-to-text conversion, and other features. OPPO said that the speakers also allow the device to be used as a music player.

Another device unveiled during the event is the tech giant’s new health monitor, the OHealth H1. Last year, OPPO established its Health Lab to develop health-related devices and this is the first product under the OHealth branding.

In essence, the OH1 is a 6-in-1 gadget that measures body temperature, blood oxygen levels, heart rate, ECG, heart and lung auscultation, and sleep patterns. For sleep tracking, it apparently can be placed next to you or by your pillow and it will reportedly still record accurate measurements by detecting subtle vibrations.
