realme Buds Air 3 Launches With Improved ANC And Automatic Device Switching

realme has added another product to its wireless audio lineup with the new Buds Air 3. The follow up to the Buds Air 2, the earbuds feature significant improvements, but it may be at the cost of a higher price tag than last year’s model.

The biggest upgrade is in Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), where it can go up to 42dB. This easily beats out its predecessor’s 25dB limit and even the higher-end Buds Air Pro’s 35dB range. While the battery capacity wasn’t revealed, realme claims that it can last up to 30 hours, with 100 minutes of playback after 10 minutes of charging.

As for the design, the earbuds themselves retain the cylindrical stems while the charging case seems to have a more horizontal form factor. Interestingly, last year’s earphones were equipped with in-ear detection sensors, but the Buds Air 3 seems to be missing this component.

The earbuds have 10mm drivers, an 88ms low-latency mode for gaming, and are IPX5 sweat and water resistant. They also feature dual device connection that allows for seamless audio switching between devices, similar to what we’ve seen in AirPods and the OnePlus Buds Pro.

The realme Buds Air 3 come in blue and white, and will retail in Europe for EUR59.99 (~RM280). This would make it significantly more expensive than the second generation earbuds, but still cheaper than the Pros with better specs. There’s no word from realme on the pricing or availability in other markets.
