Alongside a new mid-range phone and a tablet, realme has brought over its latest smartwatch to the Malaysian market. The realme Watch 3 was unveiled by the company last month with a bigger display and significantly cut-down battery life.
To recap, the smartwatch sports a 1.8-inch LCD display with a peak brightness of 500 nits, making it about 35% larger than the Watch 2. The display is square and has curved edges instead of being flat, which realme claims makes it more comfortable to use. The software also provides the Watch 3 with over 100 watch faces to choose from.
The highlight of the watch is Bluetooth calling, powered a Dual-Mode Bluetooth chip with supports both the regular standard and Bluetooth Low Energy. From the watch itself, you can dial phone numbers, access contacts, and make calls with noise cancellation that amplifies your own voice for the benefit of the person on the other end of the line.
The realme Watch 3 has all the standard exercise tracking features with over 110 sports modes and a virtual training regimen that will recommend a recovery time as well as measure your VO2 Max efficiency. The wearable is also equipped with 24-hour heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen saturation level tracking, as well as sleep and stress monitoring.
The battery life of the device is a bit odd, because despite having slightly bigger 340mAh battery compared to its predecessor’s 315mAh capacity, it only has a seven-day battery life, almost half of the Watch 2’s 12-day usage claim. It is rated IP68 for water resistance, although the company clarifies that it is still not recommended to be used while swimming or showering.
The realme Watch 3 comes in black and grey options on Shopee with a price tag of RM259. However, from 23 to 25 August, the smartwatch is being sold at a promotional price of RM199.
