Even after already introducing a couple of monitors during CES 2023, it looks like Samsung has not slowed down on unveiling new gaming-based displays for the month of January. Recently unveiled in South Korea is the latest entry to the Odyssey gaming monitor line-up, the Odyssey Neo G7 (G70NC), which the brand says is the first ever to feature its Mini-LED technology.

For starters, the Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 sports a flat 43-inch display with an aspect ratio of 16:9, variable refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, 1 ms response time, and up to 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution. In addition, it also features Quantum Mini-LED backlight for precise local dimming, VESA Display HDR600 certified peak brightness of 600 nits, as well as featuring support for HDR10+ and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. As for audio, featured onboard are two 20W speakers.

In terms of features, the new gaming monitor comes with a built-in Game Bar function where you can keep track of your machine’s performance such as frame rates and HDR status. And much like most of the other monitors in the Odyssey line-up, you can even opt to use the G70NC on its own without needing to hook it up to a console or PC. This is thanks to the numerous built-in cloud gaming and video streaming services including Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce Now, Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube. Also onboard is the Samsung Smart Hub feature, which allows you to control your SmartThings compatible IoT devices directly via the monitor.

Connectivity-wise, the Odyssey Neo G7 features Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 support, a single DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, three USB 3.0 ports, and one Ethernet LAN port. Besides that, it also comes with Samsung’s Core Sync lighting, a tiltable stand, and supports VESA (200 x 200) wall mounts.

For now, Samsung confirms that it plans to globally launch the new Odyssey Neo G7 during the first quarter of 2023, though the exact timing has yet to be announced. Similarly, pricing for the monitor is still undisclosed at this time and is expected to be revealed during its official debut.
