Xiaomi 13 Ultra To Launch On 18 April, Company Confirms On Twitter

Xiaomi 13 Ultra render

Alongside releasing renders of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, India-based news site Smartprix claimed that the device will be launched on 18 April, at least in its home market. This turns out to be accurate, as the company has announced the date to be when the launch event will be held.

On Twitter, both the brand’s official account, and that of founder and CEO Lei Jun, have shared a teaser of the launch event for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Specifically, it will be happening at 7PM, and it will be streamed via the brand’s official site. While the company is likely to save the availability date announcements for the event itself, chances are the phone will be made available in its home market first before heading to other shores later down the line.

And on that note, it looks like the price of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in its home market may have already been leaked. A post on Chinese social media Weibo includes a screenshot that shows three different RAM and storage configurations for the phone, alongside their prices. The configurations in question are 8GB +256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB, with their accompanying prices of RMB6299 (~RM4038), RMB6799 (~RM4359) and RMB7499 (~RM4808), respectively.

These are pretty steep prices, and especially so for a brand that, like a few others in their earlier years, made their name by selling flagship devices at much lower price points compared to their competitors. It would be interesting to see what these prices translate to when they reach our shores. That is, of course, assuming these leaked configurations and prices are indeed accurate, and that we will be getting the same when they become available here. Until then we will just have to wait until the company unveils the Xiaomi 13 Ultra officially next week, as well as the subsequent local launch.
