Body of newborn found in rubbish bin in Cheras condominium

KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a newborn baby was found in a rubbish bin at a condominium in Bandar Tun Razak on Monday (Dec 13) afternoon.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Idzam Jaafar, in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 14), said that police were notified on the incident at 5.50pm yesterday.

“The witness, a cleaner from DBKL, found the body of the baby as he was collecting the rubbish. He saw the body of a baby girl, with the umbilical cord still attached, inside the bin and notified his supervisor,” he said.

The body has been brought to the Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital, and a post mortem will be conducted today.

“No identification documents were found on the body. The police are still investigating the issue and as of now, no arrests have been made,” he said.
