Cooking oil subsidies cost govt RM380mil over 11 months, Dewan Rakyat told

KUALA LUMPUR: More than RM380mil has been allocated for cooking oil subsidies in the past 11 months up to June, says Deputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Rosol Wahid.

During the oral question and answer session in the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (July 25), he said the total subsidy for cooking oil in 1kg, 3kg and 5kg containers amounted to RM380,102,45.71.

“This is only for cooking oil,” he said, adding that gas, petrol, sugar and other necessities were not included.
