Cops looking into flyers alleging corruption at Sabah Customs Department

KOTA KINABALU: Flyers accusing a Customs Department official of being corrupt, a gambler and abusing his power have been distributed around the city.

The flyer named the officer and showed his face, and had among others, the words “the biggest corrupter (makan rasuah paling besar)” printed on it.

Police officials say they were looking into this case and had opened up investigation papers to, among others, probe the matter for slander.

This follows a counter report lodged by the said Customs officer after the flyers were widely distributed recently.

Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) director for Sabah Datuk S Karunanithy said they were also looking into these claims and would act accordingly.

Efforts are being made to contact the Sabah Customs Department for comments.
