Cops nab trio over spate of robberies in Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested three men believed to be linked to a number of robberies in the Klang Valley area.

Sentul OCPD Beh Eng Lai said police were initially alerted after receiving a report that a house at Taman Mastiara here was robbed while an elderly woman was inside on May 14.

“Several men had entered the house before fleeing with a number of laptops, tablets, four watches, ATM cards, jewellery and RM6,200 cash,” he said, adding that two days later, police arrested three men aged between 37 and 43 in a series of raids at Kajang, Selayang and Seri Kembangan.

He said police seized four mobile phones, a necklace, ring, bracelet, two watches, seven bags, three laptops, three tablets and some clothes which were used by the suspects in a robbery.

“We also seized a car, and a number of tools believed to be used in their robbery activities.

“The suspects targeted homes in quiet neighbourhoods and preferred to strike when nobody was home,” he said, adding that police have linked the suspects to two robberies in Selangor and one in Kuala Lumpur.

He said the suspects have been remanded to assist with further investigations.
