Cops on hunt for peeping Tom who spied on teacher in toilet

SHAH ALAM: Police are looking for a man who allegedly peeped on a female teacher inside a toilet at the National Sports Complex here last month.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the incident occurred on Aug 15 when the teacher took her students to rehearse for the Merdeka Day celebration parade there.

“A video believed to be closed circuit television (CCTV) footage of the suspect entering the toilet has been circulated on social media.

“The complainant is a 32-year-old teacher who lodged a report on Aug 15,” he said in a statement Wednesday (Sept 7).

He said the complainant was in the toilet when she noticed a man peeping at her from the next door cubicle.

“She was shocked by the incident and screamed and the suspect fled the scene.

“The suspect is believed to be a Malay man. The complainant only saw his eyes and did not see if he was holding any recording equipment,” he said, adding that they were investigating the case for trespassing and insulting behaviour.

He added that police were obtaining the CCTV footage of the surrounding area to identify the suspect.
