Cops open probe into alleged CBT case, suspect missing since Sept 2020

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have opened investigations into the case of an employee of the OG Height Condominium Management Corporation who has been missing since September 2020.

The woman disappeared after being accused of embezzling management money involving more than half a million ringgit.

Brickfields OCPD, Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the initial investigation found that the woman issued resident maintenance receipts which differed from the amount of money collected into the company’s account from July 2016 to September 2020.

“Investigations are still ongoing to obtain the actual amount of losses and complete documents from the management corporation,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Jan 26).

He said his personnel had called several witnesses related to the case to assist in the investigation.

“Efforts to track down the suspect are also underway. The public is advised not to speculate on this case. We have classified the investigation as a criminal breach of trust,” he said.

Meanwhile, Management Body chairman Alvin Mah said in a statement that the 64-year-old woman was missing after she saw a doctor on Sept 25 last year.

Five days later, a police report was lodged by the management on the woman’s disappearance when she could not be contacted.
