Cops record statements from Fahmi and Maria Chin over memo on Azam Baki

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded the statements of two PKR lawmakers in connection with a memorandum on the share trading issue involving Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.

Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah and Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil had their statements recorded at Dang Wangi police headquarters on Friday (Jan 28).

They were summoned to explain the memorandum from PKR Youth, which marched to Parliament on Jan 20.

Fahmi said the process of recording their statements went well.

“We were summoned earlier this week and we went to the police headquarters Friday (Jan 28).

“We have given our full cooperation to the police,” he told reporters.

Fahmi said he was told that many other MPs including PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would also be called up to have their statements recorded.

“The questions by the investigating officer today mostly centred on who attended and organised the handing over of the memorandum on Jan 20,” he added.
