KAJANG: Four suspects, including a Ukrainian man, have been arrested after police caught them moving drugs from a car.

The raid on May 24 was conducted in the C180 business development in Cheras, leading to the arrest of the suspected drug pushers.

In a press conference Monday (May 30) at Kajang police district headquarters, Selangor Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief Asst Comm Ahmad Jefferi Abdullah said that 39kg of drug believed to be syabu was seized.

“The suspects were caught taking the drugs from a car there. We also believe that other members of the syndicate are still at large and investigations are ongoing.

“The value of the drugs seized has been placed at around RM1.4mil. Two of the suspects have criminal records including one under Section 302 of the Penal Code (for murder),” he said.

Investigations showed that the Ukrainian suspect entered the country with a valid passport in April and in May.

All four suspects, aged between 30 and 44, have been remanded until Tuesday (May 31) but it is learnt police will seek an extension.
