Dr Wee conveys condolences to Wan Junaidi’s family over wife’s passing

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has conveyed his condolences to the family of Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar over his wife’s passing.

“My condolences to the family of Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar on the passing of his beloved wife Datin Seri Feona Sim Norjanah.

The Transport Minister remembered her as a friendly and soft-spoken person.

“She is a loyal friend to Wan Junaidi and Feona is always by her husband’s side at most official functions,” he wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday (May 28).

Dr Wee said that his family got to know Feona when she and her husband attended the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Conference in New York for three weeks in 2005

“Wan Junaidi and I were then backbenchers sent by the Government to attend the UNGA to understand the multilateral affairs of the country at the United Nations,” he added.

Dr Wee also uploaded a picture that was taken with Feona when attending a banquet at Istana Negara a few months ago.

Feona passed away on Friday (May 27), and her daughter Sharifah Nong-Jasima Syed Junaidi told RTM that she died at 6.12pm.

It is learnt that she passed away at the Borneo Medical Centre.

Funeral prayers will be held at 9am on Saturday (May 28), followed by burial at the Samariang cemetery at 10am.
