Elderly man goes missing after working in his orchard

KOTA KINABALU: A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been mounted for an 80-year-old man in Kota Marudu who went missing on Wednesday (June 8).

The Fire and Rescue Department received a call at 9.59am on Thursday (June 9) saying that the octogenarian, from Kampung Mangkaluah, had not returned home from his orchard.

A department spokesman said the villagers realised that the man was missing at about 4.30pm Wednesday.

“The man did not return home.

“The SAR team is already at the location,” said the spokesman.
