Flood Alert: Water levels at 11 rivers in Selangor at dangerous levels

PETALING JAYA: Water levels at 11 rivers in Selangor have reached danger levels, according to the Drainage and Irrigation Department portal.

As of 10.30 a.m. on Sunday (Dec 19), three of the rivers are in Hulu Langat, two in Sepang, two in Hulu Selangor, Petaling (1), Klang (1), Kuala Selangor (1) and Kuala Langat (1).

The department also reported that three other rivers in the state were showing warning levels, while six others were at alert levels.

The following are the rivers affected:

Water levels at six other states were also showing dangerous levels, namely Perak, Negri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan, while water levels at Johor and Kuala Lumpur have reached warning levels.

A total of 45 temporary evacuation centres had been set up in Selangor, 84 in Pahang, 39 in Kelantan, nine each in Melaka and Negri Sembilan and two in Terengganu.
