High Court judge, Army, Navy and Health personnel receive awards from Selangor Ruler

KLANG: Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Justice Datuk Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali has been conferred the Datuk Paduka Mahkota Selangor (DPMS) award by Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

Justice Mohd Nazlan – who received the award which carries the Datuk title for men and Datin Paduka title for women on Saturday (Jan 22) – was the judge who sentenced former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to a 12-year jail term and a RM210mil fine in the SRC International corruption case.

The judge was among 87 people who received various awards and medals in an investiture ceremony in conjunction with Sultan Sharafuddin’s 76th birthday at Istana Alam Shah.

Among others who received the DPMS award were Health Ministry secretary-general Datuk Mohd Syafiq Abdullah; Malaysian ambassadors Datuk Ahmad Rozian Abd Ghani (Belgium) and Mohd Tarid Sufian (United Arab Emirates); Malaysian High Commissioner to Canada Anizan @ Siti Hajjar Adnin; Royal Malaysian Army defence intelligence deputy director-general Major-Gen Anuar Mohamad Ali; and Royal Malaysian Navy Naval Area 1 (Kuantan) commander Rear Admiral Datuk Zulhelmy Ithnain.

Selangor royal family member Tengku Datuk Setia Ramli Alhaj Tengku Shahruddin Shah Alhaj, who is a member of the state’s Royal Council, meanwhile, received the Darjah Kerabat Kedua (DK II).

Among the top awardees was also Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali who received the Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (SPMS), which carries the title Datuk Seri.

Sultan Sharafuddin’s aide-de-camp (ADC) Capt Ahmad Ramli Kardi were among the nine people who received the the Darjah Kebesaran Datuk – Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (DSIS), which also carries the Datuk title for men and the Datin Paduka title for women.

Others were Malaysian Army Dentistry director-general Brig Gen Dr Mohd Rosli Majid, 94 HAT Terendak Camp (Armed Forces Hospital) commanding officer Brig Gen Dr Mohamed Hatta Manis and Lumut Naval Special Forces commander First Admiral Redzuan Talib, Serdang Hospital director Dr Rohana Johan, Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS) deputy rector of student affairs and alumni Assoc Prof Dr Mohd Farid Ravi Abdullah, Selangor Zakat Board trustee member Dr Abdul Rahman Abdullah, Sunway Healthcare Group managing director Lau Beng Long and Segi Value Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Chui Ah Hock.

Along with this, many frontliners who had served and are still serving in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic received awards and medals for their service at the investiture ceremony.
