Indonesian Navy chief visits Royal Malaysian Navy HQ

KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesia’s Navy Chief Admiral Muhammad Ali made his inaugural visit to the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) headquarters on Friday (Feb 17)

This is his first introductory visit abroad since taking the helm of Indonesia’s navy on Dec 28 last year.

He was welcomed by his Malaysian counterpart Admiral Datuk Abdul Rahman Ayob and a guard of honour at Wisma Pertahanan.

He then paid a courtesy visit to Armed Forces chief Tan Sri Affendi Buang before having a meeting with Admiral Abdul Rahman and being briefed on the latest developments involving the RMN.

Both navy chiefs were experts on submarines and have commanded their own submarines.

“Besides discussing regional maritime security and defence, the visit is a platform to strengthen the ties between both the RMN and TNI-AL,” the Navy said in a statement.
