Johor tops list of states with highest investments in first half of 2022

PETALING JAYA: Johor has successfully recorded the highest investment in the country for the first half of 2022, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic).

The MCA president said Johor recorded RM60.9bil in investments for the first six month of the year, which is an 822% increase from 2021.

“The Johor government under the administration of Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has successfully recorded the highest investment in the country of RM60.9bil for the first half of 2022, an increase of 822% compared to the same period last year,” said Dr Wee.

He added that after Barisan Nasional won the Johor elections with a large majority, the state government became stable and allowed full focus to be given for the state to prosper.

“This was proven within just a short period of time, Johor’s jumped from being the state with the sixth-highest investments and surged to being the country’s top. This is the importance of stability – investors will be willing to invest because they are confident with a state or country, while also benefiting the people,” he said in a Facebook post on Saturday (Sept 3).
