Nominations for PKR leadership council kick off at 9am

PETALING JAYA: Physical and online nominations for 20 PKR central leadership council seats have kick-started on Sunday (May 29).

Physical nominations began at 9am and is expected to end at 5pm at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya here.

Nominations will also be open for the 20 members of the central leadership council, Keadilan Youth Leadership (AMK) Council and Women’s Leadership Council.

However, the online nominations, which are conducted via the party’s own internal election app called Adil, will be extended until Tuesday (June 31).

The first to arrive to file for nominations were two members of PKR veterans’ group Otai Reformis 1998, Otai Reformis secretary Abdul Razak Ismail and the group’s deputy chief Mustapa Mansor Amer Mohd Isa.

When met by reporters, Abdul Razak said that they wanted to be represented within the framework of the party.

“This is the first time that our members have officially contested in the polls.

“We want to be able to give our constructive criticism directly to the party,” said Abdul Razak.

Based on the PKR 2022 election calendar, the results for 20 AMK and Wanita council posts will be known at the AMK and Women’s Congress on June 24, while results for the 20 central leadership council posts will be unveiled at the national congress a day later.
