Pakatan to decide on Muda’s membership soon, says Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR: The decision on Malaysian Democratic Alliance Party (Muda) joining Pakatan Harapan will be discussed soon, says coalition chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The PKR president said the matter had not been discussed yet in the Pakatan Presidential Council, Sinar Harian reported.

“We have not discussed it yet, it will be discussed in the near future,” he said when responding to questions at a youth programme in Taman Medan on Friday (Sept 9).

When asked about the current progress in the distribution of Pakatan seats, he said that the matter was going smoothly and would be resolved as soon as possible.

On Tuesday (Sept 6), Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said Muda was ready to cooperate with Pakatan in the 15th General Election and the fledgling party was looking at contesting in no more than 15 seats.

It was reported, however, that Selangor PKR information chief Halimey Abu Bakar warned Muda not to expect Pakatan to make way for it when it came to seat allocation in states under the coalition, namely Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan.
