Perak lining up attractions to woo international tourists

BATU GAJAH: The Perak government will promote at least four tourism products to attract international tourists to the state, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

The Perak Mentri Besar said the products will be showcased at the upcoming Expo Dubai 2021 from Dec 26 to Jan 2.

“Among them are the Tanjung Tualang Dredge No 5 (TT5) in Batu Gajah, Embun Resort Lake Sahom in Gopeng, Kuak Hill Resort in Lenggong and products from the Ipoh City Council.

“Based on my visit to TT5, I found that it has been nicely developed with added attractions such as maze parks and more,” he told a press conference at TT5 here on Thursday (Dec 9).

In October, Saarani said Perak was expecting a tourist influx that will boost the state’s economy.

“A few weeks ago, the German Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Peter Blomeyer paid a visit to Ipoh and TT5.

“He was amazed and even promoted the place to other European ambassadors.

“While Perak is among the states receiving high (numbers of) domestic tourists, we are aiming for international tourists as well,” he said.

Saarani added that TT5, which is currently managed by Mentri Besar Incorporated, received at least 1,000 visitors on weekends.
