PJ cops bust duo for convenience store robbery

PETALING JAYA: Two men have been detained for robbing a convenience store in Taman Maju Jaya here.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said police were informed that two men had escaped with cash and 49 boxes of cigarettes after robbing the convenience store at 5.28am on Saturday (Nov 5).

“We managed to track down the two suspects at Kampung Lindungan and detained them at 3.30pm the same day.

“We also seized various items believe to have been stolen by the suspects.

“They have been remanded until Thursday (Nov 10) for further investigation,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Nov 8).

Both suspects have criminal records for various offences, he added.
