PM: MACC to probe allegation of RM157mil UiTM losses

KUALA SELANGOR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will leave it to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate allegations of leakages related to the RM157mil in losses suffered by Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Holdings.

“That, I will give to MACC,” he told reporters after a programme here at Universiti Selangor on Thursday (Feb 9).

According to local reports, UiTM Holdings had recorded losses of RM157mil over a period of four years.

The company did not present its financial reports for the year 2020.

The MACC had launched a probe and Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin had welcomed it.

UiTM Holdings Sdn Bhd is an investment holding company wholly owned by UiTM that manages eight companies in the energy, healthcare, technology and creative sectors.
