Police set up unit to probe custodial death cases

PUTRAJAYA: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has set up a criminal investigation unit to probe cases of suspects’ death in custody, says Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

He also said the Home Ministry is in discussions with the Finance Ministry to appoint private clinics to conduct medical check-ups on suspects who are arrested before they are sent to the lockup. – Bernama
