Rescue workers monitoring high tide situation, conditions nominal for now

PETALING JAYA: Fire and Rescue Department teams have been deployed to monitor areas that could be affected by high tides.

The monitoring teams have been deployed to Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor and Klang in Selangor.

As at 10.30am Sunday (Sept 11), conditions were reported to be nominal in all areas.

However, high tides were reported by the Klang monitoring team at Jalan Kunci Air, Pengkalan Nelayan in Jalan Genting, Jeti D’ sayang and Pengkalan Sungai Keramat at around 6.42am Sunday.

Water levels were as high as 5.4m there but it did not affect the surrounding areas.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Hafisham Mohd Noor confirmed the matter when contacted.

“Weather conditions are good and there is no rain,” he said.
