SESB: 26 mobile power generators to ensure smooth polling day in Labuan, Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Power supply for the Nov 19 polls in the state and Labuan will be stable and in good condition, says Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB).

SESB senior general manager (asset management) Idris Mohd Noor said the company had made full preparations to ensure a smooth polling day with minimal or without any power disruptions at all the polling stations.

“A total of 26 mobile generators will be provided as a mitigation plan to ensure continuous power supply on Saturday (Nov 19),” he said in a statement Friday (Nov 18).

He said these generators would be placed at all the polling stations statewide, and in Labuan.

“We want to make sure that polling day will go on smoothly without power outages,” Idris said, adding that a total of 500 SESB staff members would be mobilised and put on rotation duty on polling day.

Power outages and disruptions were quite common in Sabah, though the situation had improved a lot in recent years.
