‘Teguh Bersama’ walk good way to express love for country

KUALA LUMPUR: The ‘Berjalan Teguh Bersama’ programme being organised in conjunction with the National Month celebrations offers a good opportunity for people from all walks of life to come together and show their love for the country.

Information Department deputy director-general (strategic communication) Zainudin Ismail said the programme is a 2.7km-long ‘relaxing’ walk which begins at 6.30am this Saturday (July 30) at Dataran Putra in Putrajaya.

Zainudin said various activities would be held along the route of the walk, including a musical presentation from Irama Gema Orang Asal and a brass band performance.

“After two years of being unable to gather together due to Covid-19, this year’s celebration is the time for the people to come together and express their gratitude and patriotism for the country.

“So, do not miss this opportunity. Come in big numbers to liven up the start of the National Month celebrations,” he said in Bernama TV’s Ruang Bicara programme last night.

Zainudin said the programme would end at Istana Kehakiman, Putrajaya, where Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob would then launch the National Month celebrations and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign.

Apart from this, some 600 participants of the Kembara Keluarga Malaysia Convoy will be flagged off, to mark the start of the Kembara Keluarga Malaysia 2022 programme which involves bringing the Jalur Gemilang Baton to various parts of the country and handing it over at every state border.

Zainudin said various other activities would be conducted in the run-up to Aug 31, and the public can get further information on the National Day celebrations from the Portal Merdeka 360 at www.merdeka360.com.my. – Bernama
