Trafficking ring busted, over RM120,000 worth of drugs seized

KUALA LUMPUR: A drug-trafficking syndicate in the Klang Valley has been busted with the seizure of more than RM120,000 worth of drugs.

Police also detained a 39-year-old man following raids at two houses in Segambut here on June 17.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said police seized 552.58g of Erimin 5, 130g of Ketamine, 1.5kg MDMA and 7.25g of Ecstasy.

“The drugs are worth RM121,862.

“The drugs could have been supplied to 31,380 addicts,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (June 21).

The suspect tested negative for drugs, he added.

“He has been remanded until Friday (June 24).

“We are investigating under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.

ACP Beh said the suspect has been involved in trafficking drugs since early this year.

“We are in the midst of identifying other syndicate members and the source of the drug supply.

“We will uncover the extent of the syndicate’s network,” he added.
