Two killed in Iskandar Puteri car crash

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Two men died on the spot when the car they were travelling in skidded at the Lima Kedai Plaza Toll near here on Wednesday (Jan 4).

The Johor Fire and Rescue Department Operation Centre said it received an emergency call about the incident at 4.36am.

Iskandar Puteri Fire station chief Mohd Khairi Zainuddin said 14 firemen as well as a Fire Rapid Tender (FRT) and an Emergency Medical Response Services (EMRS) vehicle from the Iskandar Puteri and Skudai stations were deployed to the scene.

“There were four people in the car when the incident took place,” he said in a statement.

Mohd Khairi said the male driver and 25-year-old passenger E. Thiban were pronounced dead by the paramedics from the Health Ministry.

He said the two other passengers – 26-year-old R. Shantihasheelan and 29-year old R. Kohlian – suffered injuries.

“The injured victims were handed over to the paramedics,” said Mohd Khairi.

He said the bodies of the two victims were handed over to police for further action.

The operation led by senior officer II Ronnie Robert ended at 6.10am.
