Umno supreme council will decide whether to completely end talks with PAS, says Ismail Sabri

SUNGAI BESI: Any decision to completely end discussions with PAS will be decided by the Umno supreme council, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).

The Umno vice-president said as a party that practises openness, Umno will hear the views of all party members on the matter.

“In the end, the decision will be made by the party’s supreme council,” the Prime Minister said when met by reporters at Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia on Thursday (Sept 15).

Ismail Sabri was asked about the party’s stance following calls by several Umno divisions, including Besut, to completely end talks with PAS.

He also pointed out that Umno top five meeting to discuss the 15th General Election scheduled on Saturday (Sept 17) had been postponed to a date to be announced later.

“Perhaps this matter can also be raised during the upcoming supreme council meeting,” added Ismail Sabri.

The top five Umno leaders refer to the president, deputy president and the three vice-presidents of the party.
