Warisan willing to work with PBS in GE15, says Shafie

KOTA KINABALU: Warisan has said once again that it is willing to work with Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) to face GE15.

Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said that PBS was a local party they do not mind working with, and it was up to them whether they wanted to.

He said PBS were among the few parties Warisan feels like they could work with, as its president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili is an old friend.

“Max and I also went to the same school and were in the federal cabinet together,” he said.

Shafie said this during a Kaamatan programme in Kota Belud on Sunday (June 5).

“However, Warisan must also focus on building and strengthening its own home before we can talk or plan further on collaborations,” he added.

He explained that Warisan has supporters from inside and outside the state but the calls to work with local parties came from within his party members and grassroot supporters.

“So if this is a choice, it won’t be a problem. But I don’t want to talk about the rest, we will build our house first,” Shafie said.

Warisan had on several occasions mentioned how they wanted and could work with PBS if the party wanted to as well.

However, PBS has always maintained that they can work with anyone as long as the agenda is right and benefits Sabahans.
